Dr. Edilaine C. Silva Gherardi Donato
I am an Associate Professor at the University of São Paulo, Brazil, linked to the Department of Psychiatric Nursing and Human Sciences at the Ribeirão Preto College of Nursing (EERP-USP), where I have been working as a professor since 2007. I am lead researcher at the Study and Research Group on Mental Health (GEPEMEN) and coordinate the Center for Mindfulness and Integrative Therapies at EERP-USP. I lead training programs for mindfulness practices as a Senior Mindfulness Instructor certified by Mindfulness Trainings International (MTi).
In 2019, I received the Elsevier Atlas Award "Research for a Better World" for publishing a scientific article on Mindfulness-Baed Interventions for female victims of interpersonal violence. I'm responsible for supervising master's, doctoral, and post-doctoral projects, and have coordinated research projects funded by funding agencies, contributing to the training of researchers and the production of scientific knowledge on the theme of mindfulness and mental health promotion.
I collaborate in the development of research on mental health and mindfulness promotion with universities in Spain, Canada, and Mexico. In my academic career as a teacher and researcher, I have dedicated myself to teaching, research, and extension activities to promote mental health, and reduce stress and physical and psychological suffering in different populations (students, health and education professionals, people living with mental disorders, women living with chronic pain and affected by interpersonal violence).
